Taking a break........

After three years of sharing my thoughts on design, my travels, my interior projects and the wonderful products that have filled our stores, I have decided to give my weekly blogging a break for now........

Over the past months as many of you know I have spent more and more of my time abroad, overseeing the design process and production of the many items we have manufactured for our different business interests, including our expanding wholesale division in both Australia and New Zealand.

This year I am also undertaking several large design projects that will also require a significant amount of my time along side a few new developments that must stay under my hat for now. For those of you who simply must know what is happening at Aria you can still follow us on Facebook, where new products, promotions and much more will be kept up to date by our team.

My blog over the past three years has been a wonderful experience and reached so many people, the support and positive feed back has been amazing and is so much appreciated!!!

Bold Colour statement

I am currently working on several projects both on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane which means I can not always be available when new furniture is delivered or to see the end results immediately. This week we delivered this custom made bedhead and ottoman in a wonderful bold Designers Guild turquoise fabric to one of our Brisbane clients. It is always exciting to receive a photo of the pieces placed in their new home and to hear how happy our clients are!

In store

I'm loving the new Andrew Martin wallpaper we have just had installed in the showroom! Available in several colour options this faux shutter paper really creates a relaxed tropical look.

Installed today

This morning we installed our Rolls 3 seater sofa and two Ralph armchairs in a client's home, I love the custom made ottomans and cushions. The natural linen tones work beautifully with my favourite shade of blue to create a fresh and classic look.

Home again!!

It is great to be back home after my recent trip to India. It doesn't matter how many times I visit it never fails to surprise and inspire me.  India is well known for its handcrafts and cottage industries, many of which are very important to supporting local communities and who doesn't love that? With this in mind a large part of my trip was spent sourcing some fantastic new pieces for my store Aria Home, these will arrive over the months ahead as they are made and shipped to Australia. While I have been away we have continued to receive more new furniture including some great buffets. Drop in and see us soon!!

New Arrivals!!

Its been a huge day with the arrival of our new furniture range along side deliveries of the latest colour way in our popular cushion collection. The store has been transformed with a fantastic range of cabinets, buffets and display cases, they are available in either black or white and finished with gleaming hardware. These pieces are sure to create a chic coastal or Hamptons look with their understated and classic styling.
I have a few loose ends to tie up tomorrow then I am off on my next buying trip to source more fantastic pieces for our store.....

Beside the seaside...

How amazing do these coral pieces look! Our store has always been known for its extensive collection but these latest arrivals look fantastic. The" Staghorn" coral in the first image measures 600mm in diameter and can be laid flat as an amazing centre piece or placed upright for an even more dramatic effect. I also love the "cabbage" style for its curly look. We have a wide range of other coral styles suitable for coffee tables or even bathrooms!

Tables & Chairs

We currently have a fantastic range of tables and chairs in store! From our chunky three meter long Palm Beach dining table surrounded with striped Coast chairs to our comfortable Lara chair with deep buttoned back. We also have round dining tables and parquet inlay tables available as well as several other dining chair options.

Sydney

I have arrived home after a fantastic week in Sydney. While primarily there to attend Decoration & Design at Darling Harbour it was also such a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends and visit some of my favourite design stores. For me no trip would be complete without visiting The Country Trader. The store has recently been extended with even more amazing pieces sourced from around the globe and piled high for visual delight. The wonderful staff make spending time in store such a great experience!

Now that I am back there is a lot to do before I head overseas in a weeks time, with two new containers of furniture arriving there will be no rest, hopefully I can post some images before I leave....

Lunch in Sydney

I had read the reviews about this fabulous new cafe in Sydney and could not wait to try it for my self. "La Croix" located in Potts Point combines stunning antiques, homewares and crystal with an obviously decidedly french menu. The store is so elegant and calm in such a hectic part of the city and after a wonderful lunch and several glasses of champagne the afternoon was completed with a little shopping at "Becker Minty", Potts Point other stylish destination for home and fashion. When in Sydney these two places are a must for stylish interior lovers!!

Another happy Aria client

Its always wonderful to hear how happy our clients are. So when I received this image today I could not have been more pleased. Earlier this week our beautiful parquetry inlay table was delivered along with dining chairs and chandelier to their home. Our client is so happy with the result which is always the perfect way to end the week. Have a great weekend!!

Meet Ralph

This week despite the drenching rains I have started several new interior design projects which is always exciting. It seems like everything happens at once as I am about to attend several local trade shows before heading overseas again. If only I could add an extra day to the week......... I'm loving our new Ralph wingback chair which is oversized for super comfort, with its deep buttoned back and feather wrapped seat it is the perfect spot to curl up and relax in, especially in this weather!! Sophie is back

Our Sophie chair is back in stock! Ideal as statement chairs at the ends of a dining table or perhaps as an occasional chair in the living or bed room. Its unique script fabric is complimented with antique stud detail. Shown with our stunning three meter long weathered elm dining table to create a look of casual elegance.

The New Year!

Happy New Year!! It's great to be back and full of enthusiasm for the year ahead. It is going to be a great year with lots of exiciting things happening!!!

I have just returned from a relaxing week in Auckland staying at the very comfortable Pullman Hotel & Residences. It's always so inspiring to visit a different city. Great restaurants and cafes and of course exploring all the quirky design stores the city is known for. I also especially loved all the wonderful old cottages and their beautiful gardens of the inner city suburbs.

Well prior to my trip (yes while you were all relaxing at the beach) we were busy unpacking and restocking the store after one of our busiest Christmas periods ever. There are some amazing new furniture pieces that have arrived including large mirrors, tables and several new designs of occasional and dining chairs. One of my favourite pieces is this stunning "Explorer Chair". It is a high wingback style chair, the back is wrapped in a hessian fabric with hand nailed detail while the front is upholstered with a beautiful aged world map impression that is printed directly on to the fabric.
